Itinerary

Day 01 (Fri) US/SHANGHAI (via Beijing)
Take an international flight from the US to Beijing, China. Meals and snacks will be served on the plane. Movies will also be available during the flight.

Day 02 (Sat) SHANGHAI
Upon arrival at Beijing Capital International Airport, you will take a connecting flight to Shanghai. You will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Shanghai. Enjoy the rest of the day for leisure.

Shanghai, China’s largest city (home to 16 million people), is also China’s principal port on a deep estuary of the Yangtze River. Often regarded as “the Paris of the East,” Shanghai has retained the flavor of its past European influences.

Day 03 (Sun) SHANGHAI -THE YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (AB, L, D)
Today’s excursion takes you to the Bund, bustling Nanjing Road and Yu Garden. Later in the afternoon you will be transferred to the pier to embark on the Victoria Cruise ship and start your exciting cruise journey on the Yangtze!

Day 04 (Mon) THE YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE: NANJING (AB, L, D)
The cruise ship arrives in Nanjing, one of the ancient capital cities in China. You will take a shore excursion of Nanjing touring Dr. Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and a Qing Dynasty style bazaar surrounding a Confucian Temple. Return to the ship later in the evening.

Day05 (Tues) THE YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE: MT. HUANGSHAN (AB, L, D)
Today’s full day shore excursion takes you to Mt. Huangshan, also known as “Yellow Mountain”. Enjoy its peculiarly-shaped granite peaks, pine trees, views of the sea of clouds from above, sunset and hot springs. Mt. Huangshan is also listed as the World Natural and Cultural Heritage Site.

Day 06 (Wed) THE YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE: WUHAN (AB, L, D)
Upon arrival in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei Province and the major transportation hub in central China. You will take a walking tour of downtown Wuhan, and visit Rare Stone Museum if time permits. Continue sailing on the Yangtze later tonight.

Day 07 (Thurs) YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE
(AB, L, D)
Sail all day. Enjoy fine dining, a river briefing, and cultural programs on board.

Day 08 (Fri) YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE: GEZHOU DAM/XILING GORGE/ SAN DOU PING (AB, L, D)
Pass through the Gezhou Dam Ship Lock and enter Xiling Gorge. After lunch, you will take a shore excursion of the Three Gorges Dam Project Site. Late in the afternoon, the cruise ship will pass through the five level shiplocks of the well-known Three Gorges Dam, which gives you an unique opportunity to experience the grandeur of the world’s biggest dam project. Continue sailing through the Xiling Gorge.

Day 09 (Sat) YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE: WU GORGE/WUSHAN/QUTANG GORGE (AB, L, D)
Pass through the Wu Gorge early in the morning and sail to Wushan, where you will take a shore excursion of Daning River to experience the breathtaking scenery of the Lesser Three Gorges. Continue sailing and pass through the Qutang Gorge in the late afternoon.

Day 10 (Sun) YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE: FENGDU (AB, L, D)
Sail to Fengdu, the legendary home of the King of Hades – often referred to as the “ghost city”. Go ashore to view the Mingshan Hill’s temples. Continue sailing for Chongqing.

Day 11 (Mon) CHONGQING/BEIJING (AB, L)
Arrive in Chongqing in the morning. Take a city tour of Chongqing and visit the Stilwell Museum. Take an afternoon flight to Beijing.

Day 12 (Tues) BEIJING (AB, L, D)
Today you will tour the delicately crafted Temple of Heaven, where the emperors used to pray for good harvest. After lunch, you will tour the Hutong (Chinese alleyways) by riding aboard a pedicab through the narrow lanes of the old residential quarters. You will have the opportunity to take a glimpse of the local residents’ daily life.

Day 13 (Wed) BEIJING (AB, L, SD)
The highlight today is a trip to the astonishing Great Wall of China at Juyongguan Pass, one of the most remarkable feats of mankind. After lunch, you will stroll along the Sacred Way guarding the Ming Tombs, lined with different statutes of animals such as lions, elephants, camels and etc. Later in the day, you will take a tour of the Olympic Park where you will view the exterior of the Bird Nest-China National Stadium and Water Cube-China National Aquatic Center. Attend a Peking Duck Dinner tonight.

Day 14 (Thurs) BEIJING (AB, L, D)
After breakfast, you will visit Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the largest and most intact conglomeration of ancient structures of the imperial palace. You will also tour the emperor’s Summer Palace, the famous resort of Empress Dowager Ci Xi. Enjoy the Beijing acrobatic show in the evening.

Day 15 (Fri) BEIJING/US (AB)
After breakfast, you will take a departure transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
