Our Bike Taiwan tour has been created with its time schedule matching Taiwan Cycling Festival, which is orchestrated by Taiwan Tourism Bureau. The series of activities of the “Taiwan Cycling Festival” will enable you to experience the diversified local cultures. Accompanied by beautiful mountains and water scenery, bicycle enthusiasts from around the world can come on a pilgrimage and are provided a varied and rich recreational cycling experience, making the riding of the “iron horse” no longer a simple exercise but rather the perfect experience in body and soul. A classic piece of dialog from the Taiwan movie Island Etude: “There are some things that, if you don’t do them now, never will.” These words set off a craze for traveling around the whole of Taiwan by bike. Doing a bicycle circuit around Taiwan has now become a must item on many people’s “bucket list”! Come and Join us for a wonderful biking experience in Taiwan!
Itinerary

Day 1, 11/11 US/TAIPEI
Today you will take transpacific flight from the US for Taipei. Meals and snacks will be provided on board. Movies will also be available.

Day 2, 11/12 TAIPEI
Upon arrival at the airport in Taipei, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day for leisure.

Day 3, 11/13 TAIPEI B/D
This morning you will be picked up from you hotel lobby for a half day seat-in-coach tour in Taipei visiting the Presidential Building (pass by ), Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, Martyrs’ Shrine, the Traditional Taiwanese Temple and the well-known National Palace Museum and the Handicraft Center. Return to the hotel for a break. In late afternoon, you will join in another seat-in-coach night tour of Taipei visiting Lungshan Temple Hwahsi Night Market and Taipei 101 Building (entrance to the observation deck not included), one of the highest buildings in the world. You will also enjoy your Mongolia Barbecue Dinner tonight.

Day 4, 11/14 TAIPEI/HSINCHU B/L/D - 51 Miles
Around 8:00 am, you will meet our professional escorts along with our support vehicle at Xindian MRT Station to start your bicycling journey. Ride the beautiful tracks of Daxi, and soon you will get into the bustling west of Taiwan. Reserve your energy and keep your pace relaxing to enjoy the country sceneries and villages. Arrive at the City God Temple in Hsinchu for a visit. Stay overnight in Hsinchu.

Day 5, 11/15 HSINCHU/LUKANG  B/L/D - 75 Miles
Today you will ride along 17-KM coast line before getting to the Giant Global Group, a truly giant bicycle manufacturer in the world, for a visit. This bicycling trip has been made possible with the help by the Giant Group. Continue your ride along the sea line of Lukang to enjoy a variety of sceneries en route. Stay overnight in Lukang.

Day 6,  11/16 LUKANG/CHIAYI B/L/D - 52 Miles
Today’s riding experience is featured by crossing the Xiluo Bridge in bright red color across Jhuoshuei River. With 1939.03 meters in length and 7.3 meters in width, the bridge has enjoyed a reputation of the longest bridge in the Far East. While you are in southern Taiwan, you should not miss tasting such local specialties as Qiliang Rice Cake  and the fresh herb tea in Xiluo. Stay overnight in Chiayi.

Day 7, 11/17 CHIAYI/KAOHSIUNG B/L/D - 78 Miles
Departing from Chiayi, you will soon cross the Tropic of Cancer (or Tropic of Capricorn) to enter Taiwan’s tropical area. Ride on the smooth Chia-nan Plains, and enjoy the view of endless rice fields. After having the local meal in Tainan for your lunch, continue your ride to visit Nan Ying Tsung-Yeh Arts and Cultural Center, which used to be Tsung Yeh Sugar Refinery run by Mitsubishi Group. Overnight in Kaohsiung.

DAY 8, 11/18 KAOHSIUNG/CHECHENG  B/L/D - 67 Miles
Enjoy a cozy ride on Expressway No. 88. During your break, you may taste Chaozhou shaved ice with hot glutinous rice ball inside, a local specialty you can’t miss. Later in the afternoon, you will visit little villages in the serene countryside en route to Checheng. Overnight in Checheng.

DAY 9, 11/19 CHECHENG/ZHIBEN  B/L/D - 64 Miles
Today’s ride could be challenging as you ride along the slope of County Road 199 from 100 meters to 500 meters above sea level. While taking a break, you will enjoy a bird’s eye view of Pairwan Aboriginal Tribe and Black Dwarf Archeological Site. You will also pass by Tungyuan Wetlands and Shouka, a popular photo taking spot. Later in the evening, enjoy relaxing hot spring bath at your hot spring spa resort hotel.

DAY 10, 11/20 ZHIBEN/RUISUI B/L/D - 78 Miles
Today’s ride is on Road 193 and East Coast Road along the East Coast of Taiwan, which has been rated the best route for cyclists in Taiwan. You will make a few stops for photo taking and enjoying the sceneries en route. Chishang Rice Bian Dang will be served for your lunch today. Chishang Rice Bian Dang is a famous local food with cooked Chishang rice packed in a wooden box and served with dry side dishes. Stay overnight in a resort hotel in Ruisui.

DAY 11, 11/21 RUISUI/LOTUNG B/L/D - 54 Miles
After a brief  ride in the morning, you will spend some time relaxing and shopping. You will also visit Guangfu Sugar Refinery, known for its ice cream popular among the old and young. Afterwards, instead of riding your bicycle, you will take a train from Hualien to Suao. The train journey allows you to enjoy the spectacular view of sea and mountain valleys. Overnight in Lotung.

DAY 12, 11/22 LOTUNG/TAIPEI B/L - 51 Miles
Today you will ride on hilly Beiyi Highroad, and pass by Pinling, a place famous for tea production. At Pinling Tea Museum built in traditional Chinese Min-anxi courtyard style, you will attend the tea ceremony and presentation on tea culture. You will also participate in the hands-on activities. Return to Taipei in the afternoon. Enjoy the night for leisure.

DAY 13, 11/23 TAIPEI/US B
Take a departure transfer for your flight back home.
